The nature center is open daily from 9:00 am til 5:00 pm. No entry after 4:00 pm.
The Nature Center closes Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day only.
April 2- Day Camp Registration opens. For kids ages 7-12. $45 per camper. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10-4. There are still some room left in June 19-21 and June 26-28. Call (770) 775-6798 for more info and to make a reservation.
April 21- Bluebirds and Bluegrass Festival: This free event offers something for the entire family.
Live bluegrass bands starting at 11:00 am include JR and the Apostles of Bluegrass, Grassville, and Jess Darsey and Cabin Point Bluegrass.
There will also be a Dulcimer Jam Session inside the Visitors Center from 1-3 pm, See outdoor recreation clubs and learn about the experiences you can gain through their activities.
G&R Rockclimbing Adventures will have fun activities for a fee. Plant sale. Watch Georgia 10th Volunteer Infantry reenactments and blacksmithing demonstrations.
Meet other nature centers and learn how they promote wildlife. The main gate opens at 9:00 am. Food and drink will be sold. See you at the Trails!
May 5- Movie Under the Stars...Featuring "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" Showtime 8:30. Free Event. Concessions are sold. Bring your own chair or blanket. Please, no pets, alcohol, or smoking. This film is edited.
June 9- Fishing Rodeo: Bring your own bait and tackle. Keep what you catch. No license needed. Free Event. Main gate will open at 7:00 am. Fishing ends at 12 pm. Fishing only in pond behind the Visitors Center.
